For the second instalment in this series I am going to be giving you a step-by-step guide to planning the perfect pirate themed party.
Step 1 – Venue – Like I said in the previous post many choose to keep their party at home. But if you do choose to hire a separate venue some ideas could be: a town hall or parish centre, a conference room, A Hotel, a ballroom (if your really pushing the princess theme), or even an outdoor location such as a gazebo or in a park if the weather is nice.
Step 2 – Booking an entertainer – as I mentioned before it is always nice to have someone to entertain young children and in a magical princess theme party it could be a nice idea to hire a magician to create the magical atmosphere. However another good idea for a princess themed party is to hire a face- painter. Having your face painted as a young girl can easily be compared to the excitement of having your makeup done as an adult and can really make the child feel like a princess.
Step 3 – Decoration – Decorating your chosen location is the step that really brings the princess theme to life. Some ideas to help create this theme could be having tiaras as party hats, hanging bunting on the walls and Dressing tables with princess themed items.
Step 4 – Invitations – A great way to spend an afternoon with the family could be to make your own princess themed invitations to send to your guests. Some ideas for this could be Disney princess themed cards, Origami Frogs (Idea of the frog Price) Crowns or Origami dresses (How to make this is in my D.I.Y blog section).
Extra Step – Dress Code – Having the children come in their own princess dresses can not only make the party more exciting to look at. But it can make, coming to your child’s party seem like much more of an exciting occasion for your guests. If you should wish to invite boys the theme can easily be adapted to Princes.
